Taiwan FDA holds the “2025 APEC Conference on the Analytical Techniques for Cosmetics”to promote the cosmetic analytical techniques and strengthen international cooperation

To promote international exchange and collaboration in cosmetic analytical techniques, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA), Ministry of Health and Welfare, holds the 2025 APEC Conference on the Analytical Techniques for Cosmetics on October 22, 2025, at the GIS MOTC Convention Center in Taipei. The formally endorsed conference is supported by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). The conference is held in a hybrid format, combining both physical and virtual formats. A total of six cosmetic analysis experts from Canada, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan are invited to share the current cosmetic analytical techniques and its future trend. Over 150 domestic and international personnel from industry, government, and academia attend and fully participate in the conference.
 
The conference focuses on a range of topics, including substances of emerging concern, monitoring of persistent organic pollutants, green chemistry analytical techniques, and cosmetic regulations. To explore the latest global developments in cosmetics analytical techniques, six experts and scholars from Canada, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan have been invited to deliver presentations. A scholar from Carleton University in Canada presents on the analytical characteristics and monitoring methods for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in cosmetics Taiwan FDA holds the “2025 APEC Conference on the Analytical Techniques for Cosmetics”to promote the cosmetic analytical techniques and strengthen international cooperation products. An officer from the Republic of Korea’s National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation shares insights into the establishment and experiences of Korea’s cosmetic analytical methods. An officer from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare provides the interpretation of Japan’s regulations governing cosmetics and medicated cosmetics. Additionally, domestic scholars and the TFDA officer share their insights on green chemistry analytical techniques for cosmetics, extracellular vesicles analysis and applications, and the cosmetic analytical techniques and experiences in methods development and relevant achievements in Taiwan.
 
This conference offers a valuable opportunity for the TFDA and international personnel to learn from one another, exchange experiences and strengthen multilateral technical cooperation and information sharing. This conference helps grasp the international analytical techniques development and strengthen domestic and international exchanges, aligning Taiwan’s cosmetics analytical techniques with international standards.
